DEATH TAKES A. J. BABCOCK

Liberty Township Pioneer Succumbs In Valparaiso Aged 83

A. J. Babcock, age 83 years, known to many of his friends throughout Porter county as "Cull" Babcock, died this morning at the home of Mrs. Roberty Bryarly, on East Erie street, where he resided. He had been in ill health for several months.
The decedent was born at Babcock Station, Porter County, and always lived in this county. Of late years he had made his home in Porter and Valparaiso. His wife preceded him in death 25 years ago.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas W. Babcock, of Valparaiso, and Percy Babcock of Gary; four daughters, Mrs. Florence Bond, of Miller Station; Mrs. Flossie Gardner of LaGrange, Ill.; Mrs. Eva McCulley, of Parsons, West Virginia and Mrs. Leonard Shearer, of Valpariso and one sister, Mrs. Maude Pillman, of Porter.
The body is at the LePell & Son funeral home on Monroe street. Memorial services have not been completed and will be announce tomorrow.
