She married George Washington McGinnis in 1929 and had two children: George Alfred (Jerry) and Patricia Ruth. She and George spent several years in a tuberculosis hospital in Kearney, Nebraska, so her parents took care of the children during that time. She later married an incredible man, William R. Swartz and they moved to San Diego to start a new life.
Irene (my grandmother) was an incredible Christian who loved to cook and entertain her family and friends. She loved life with her whole heart and helped anyone that needed it. Life was very hard, but she was always upbeat and positive. She died less than a month after grandpa died and we knew it was because she could not live without him. I miss her every day.
