JANESVILLE - Robert C. Ahrens, age 61, of 1210 N. Martin Rd., died at St. Anthony Hospital, Rockford, on Wed. Feb. 22, 1989, after a short illness. He was born Nov. 14, 1928 in Beloit, WI, the son of Carl and Lydia Mae Ahrens. He married Charlotte Zamites in 1974 in Fulton, WI. He worked for the Beloit Corp. for 42 years as a quality control inspector. He was a member of the Beloit Rifle Club, Ducks Unlimited, Trout Unlimited, Nature's Conservancy, the Beloit Corp. Union and the Quarter Century Club at the Beloit Club.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; his mother, Lydia Mae; 2 daughters, Kathleen Marie (Michael) Graves of Beloit and Christine Ann Ahrens of Beloit; 1 granddaughter, Brandi Marie Graves; 2 nephews, Dennis and Stephen Ahrens; stepchildren: Don (Peg) Sanderson of Madison, Ron (Rhoda) Sanderson of Kansas City, MO, Donna (Michael) Neely of Germany, Barbara (Greg) Lein of Edgerton and Dale (Eileen) Sanderson of Janesville; 13 step-grandchildren; 1 step-great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by his father and a brother, Don.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Sat at the Rosman, Uehling, Kinzer, Cranston Road Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Cemetery, S. Beloit, IL.
