SPANISH FORK - Jacob A. Hansen, well-known civic and church worker died at the family home, 245 East 2nd North Friday. He was born in Spanish Fork, Jan. 29, 1865 to James and Karen Anderson Hansen. He married Maud McKell in the Manti L. D. S. temple, April 3, 1889, and they continued to make their home in Spanish Fork where he engaged in farming and in livestock growing. He served as city councilman for Spanish Fork city during 1922 and 1923. He supported a missionary for the L.D.S. church for two years and was always interested in missionary work. He was a ward teacher for many years and a high priest at the time of his death. He was employed, in the produce department of the Spanish Fork Co-op.

Surviving are his widow, and the following sons and daughters: Bernell J. Hansen and Mrs. Dora Maud Johnson, of Spanish Fork; Robert E. Hansen and Mrs. Carrie E. Gammell of Copperton, Utah; William W. Hansen of Payson; Mrs. Sylvia May Crandall of Springville and Mrs. Winonna Blanch Mordue of Taranza, California; twenty-five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; thirteen brothers and sisters, Mrs. Sarah Swenson, Spanish Fork; Elias J. Hansen and Mrs. Sena Anderson of Salt Lake City; Alma Hansen, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Dora Bradford, Santa Barbara, California; Mrs. Hannah Almond and Mrs. Catherine Anderson of Springville; Erastus Hansen of Palmyra; Ezra Hansen of Rigby, Idaho; Daniel Hansen of Grace, Idaho; Nephi Hansen and Mrs. Nora Shonaker of Los Angeles, California; John Hansen of Spanish Fork. Another brother, Isaac Hansen died last week.

Funeral services will be conducted, in the Third ward L. D. S. chapel Tuesday at 1 p. m. Friends may call at the Claudin Funeral home until Monday evening and prior to the services at the family home.

Burial will be in the Spanish Fork cemetery.
