Neva Osborn was born 13 April 1889 in Missouri to Elek and Martha (Barker) Osborn, the fourth of five children. Her brothers were Samuel Osborne, Jesse Everett Osborne, Van Osborne, Earnest Osborne, and John B. Osborne. She and her family were living in the Seneca Nation, Indian Territory (now Oklahoma) in 1900. Neva married Joseph Willis Cowles 9 February 1906, and moved with Joseph and his family to California by 1910. Neva and Joseph had five children: Carl Joseph, Ida May, Homer Roy, and twins Myrl Leonard and Myrtle Lee. Neva and Joseph divorced around 1920, and Neva married John Simmons Vierra in 1922. They were married for a few years, but eventually divorced and Neva then married Lambros Gusetis in 1929, and was married to Lambros until her death in 1952.
