Jim was born on September 3, 1930 in Oakland, CA to Calvin and EraBess Nephew. Jim grew up in Fresno, CA where he attended local schools. He graduated from Fresno State with his Bachelors Degree. Jim married Marlene Kenneaster in June 1956. They relocated to Modesto, CA and had two daughters. Jim worked for Aetna Insurance Company. In 1972 the family moved to Bakersfield where he worked for the County of Kern as the Risk Manager. He eventually opened his own business Golden Empire Adjusting Service which he closed earlier this year. Jim was a member of the East Bakersfield Rotary Club and Footprinters Association.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Calvin and EraBess Nephew and his wife Marlene. Jim is survived by this two daughters and their husbands and two grandchildren. The family would like to thank Kay and her daughter Terri for going above and beyond for our dad. The family would also like to thank the staff at Glenwood Gardens.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 10 at 10:00am at Greenlawn Cemetary, 3700 River Blvd., Bakersfield.
