She was working for the government in San Juan, Puerto Rico during the war, where she met her future husband, Jack. They were married in San Juan on Feb. 23, 1943. Her husband was career military, and Elsie was very active with the military wives association during their military life, holding many offices over the years.
Elsie was also a very active Red Cross volunteer, doing whatever was needed by Grey Ladies, Canteen and Staff aides. She also served as an officer for the Military Hostess Wives Assoc., volunteering at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. Elsie loved to play golf, bridge, do needle work, travel, and make new friends. After her husband's retirement from active duty, they spent many years enjoying their membership and involvement at Oakridge Country Club and traveling.
Elsie moved to Mesquite, Nevada, in 1995 and enjoyed the new experience of living in the desert area. She joined the Desert Dames and enjoyed making new friends and volunteering at the local medical facility.
Elsie is survived by her children: son Alfred Lee Neslen (Lynnette) of Salt Lake City, daughter Nancy Yeldell (Charlie) of Scottsdale, Arizona, and daughter Judith Ann Blaufuss (Armin) of Taylorsville, Utah; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack and two brothers.

There will be a graveside service on July 11, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Utah Veteran's Memorial Park, 17111 S. Redwood Road, Bluffdale.
