The attached Application for Headstone indicates he enlisted on April 26, 1918 and was Discharged December 5, 1918 with an Honorable Discharge. He was a Private in the 6th Calvary, 154 Depot Brigade during WWI.Clarence E. Kemp, 514 West South street, died at Walter Reed Hospital, Washington, Friday afternoon, aged 37 years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Irene C. Kemp and the following children: Mary Jane, Doris May, and Wallace L. Kemp. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Kemp, Baltimore, and the following brothers and sisters also survive: Harry Kemp, Harrisburg, Pa.; Roy, Mehrl, Marion, Misses Lillian and Eva Kemp, all at home.

Funeral with mass at St. John's Catholic church Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock. Internment in Mt. Olivet cemetery. M. R. Etchison and Son, funeral directors.

The funeral of Clarence E. Kemp took place with mass at St. John's Catholic church, Tuesday morning, at 9 o'clock, Rev. Fr. M. J. Pinnerty, officiating. Pallbearers were: Paul Plunkert, Harry Beacht, Elmer Hargett, Harry Bruchey, Charles Pulmer and Millard Gaither. The Carpenter's Union held services at the grave. Internment Mt. Olivet cemetery. M. R. Etchison and Son, funeral directors.
