Doris Ann Newlin was born January 14, 1918 in Chicago to Edward and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Stanco.

She died peacefully on December 21, 2013 at her niece's home.

She was an active member of St. Alphonsus Church, a volunteer at St. Joseph's Home in Palatine, and a friend to everyone that she met.

Doris is survived by her niece, Kathy (Joe) Ruck; her nephews, Lee (Romy Schafer) Geistlinger and Jay (Judi) Geistlinger; her cousin, Marion (late Joe) Huerter; her brother-in-law, Bill Geistlinger; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Doris is preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Highland and Lawrence L. Newlin; her sister, Shirlie Geistlinger; her twin brother, Edward Stanco; and her parents.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, and 9:00 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Alphonsus Church, 411 North Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights, until the time of the Mass at 10:00 a.m.
Burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
