Gary Philip Mason, 76, passed away at his home in Apple Valley with family and VNA / Hospice at his side on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 due to complications from Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born in Washington, D.C. on November 19, 1937 spending his childhood in Springfield, MA. He was an Army Veteran, Household Finance Manager, Past President of the V.V Optimist Club, Instructor with the High Desert Young Marines and Manager of Western Financial Bank. He loved golf and achieved two hole-in-ones. Gary is survived by his wife Connie, five children Caroline, Michelle, Karen, Brian and Keith, brother Lee, 8 grandchildren; nieces, nephews and his four legged friend "Cooper". Per his request, there will be no service. Private graveside service will be held at Desert View Memorial Park in the Spring. Published in the Daily Press from Dec. 24 to Dec. 26, 2013.
