The Rev. Silas S Barnett, 83, of 318 Legion Court in Bryan, TX died on 26 August 1983. Services will be held at 11am Friday in Lee Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev Thomas E. Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Peoples' Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The Rev. Barnett, born in Grapeland, had lived in Bryan for 12 years. He received his degrees from Rust College in Holly Springs, Mississippi, and from Gammon Theology Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia. A retired minister, he was a member of Lee Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Winnie Mindora Huggins of Bryan and a sister, Rhoda Miles of Fort Worth.
