Ebb Jackson was the son of W. Harrison Jackson and Julia Ann Cole. He and some of his brothers were routinely in conflict with the law. He was married first to Pearl who died around 1925 and then remarried to Myrtle Lee. In 1928 Ebb came in contact with an escaped convict named Lee Gibson. Gibson wanted Ebb to participate in a plan to rob a bank in Clayton, OK. Ebb declined. Gibson, apparently fearing word of his plan would get out, came back to the Jackson farm and murdered all of the family that was present. Gibson fled but was fatally wounded and captured, confessing to the murders before he died.
