TEXAS CITY-Rubv Ray Smith, 72, died Monday morning at Danforth Hospital in Texas City. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at the chapel of the James Crowder Funeral Home, Rev. Jay Lewis Hill officiating. Burial wilt follow (he services at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, under the direction of the James Crowder Funeral Home.
Mrs. Smith was born October 20, 1907 in Lockesburg, Ark. She had been a resident of Texas City since 1948 and was a member of Texas City Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ardis L. Smith of Texas City; two sisters, Fay Smith of Texas City and Beulah Halligan of Arcadia; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bob Childs, Eddie Childs, David Billings, Ernest Taylor, Bobby Towell and Lee Sanders. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Richard and Tim Sharer.
Visitors may call at the James Crowder Funeral Home after 8 a.m. today.
