Funeral services were conducted this morning in the First United Methodist church for Mrs. Vada Landes Ratch, a former city resident who died Saturday in Tonkawa Manor following a period of ill health. She had lived in Kay and Grant couties most of her 68 years. The Rev. Eldon Moelling, pastor of the chruch officiated.

She was born June 26, 1902 at Hennessey and at an early age moved with her family to Salt Fork and resided there and at Lamont until moving here in 1927. She left here in 1961 for Ponca City where she drove the star mail route to Enid for five years. She married Albert Landes on December 24, 1920 and Walter Ratch, July 10, 1969.

She was a member of Tonkawa Rebekah Lodge, Tonkawa Past Noble Grands Club, Tonkawa United Methodist church, and Kay County Rural Mail Carriers Association.

Survivors are three sons, Cecil Landes, Ponca City: Neal Winfield of 199 West Fresno, Ponca City, and Don Landes, a warrant officer stationed with the Coast Guard in San Juan, Puerta Rico: two stepdaughters, Mrs. Elsie Kurtz and Mrs. Eloise Putt, both Ponca City: eight grand children and ten great grandchildren.

Burial was in the IOOF cemetery under McCafferty Bolick Funeral Home direction."
