Evelyn was the daughter of Adelbert Rogers and Dollie Evelyn Jenkins. She married James Harmon Elkins 1899 and they were the parents of twins, Carlos Alfred and Carrie Winifred (Ring), and daughter Lillian Roberta Elkins.
Mrs. Elkins, a twin of brother (first born) Alfred E. Rogers, grew up in Iowa but spent most of her married life with her husband in Hamilton County, Nebraska. They retired around 1947 to be near daughter, Winifred Ring and family at Modale, Harrison County, Iowa.
Evelyn Elkins is a direct descendant of Mayflower Passenger Richard Warren.
