Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on December 19, 2013.
Mildred was born on June 7, 1923 to Don Carlos Smith and Melissa Smith. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many positions including ward chorister and as a Jordan River temple worker. Mildred loved to Jitter Bug, she enjoyed classical music, singing, cooking, and she was a most avid reader. Mildred shared her love of music and reading with both family and friends. She was married to her sweetheart, Reed Maxfield, for almost 69 years. Together they raised five sons: Roger, Monty, Roland, Nathan, and Austin. Family was the focus of Mildred's life and she strived to let each family member know that they were loved.
