Amzie Raymond Blake, 87, of Julesburg, CO passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013 in Julesburg. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 4th, 2014 at the Julesburg Christian Church at 10:30am with Pastors Alan Harris and Murl Powell officiating.

Amzie was born July 27, 1926 in Rural Sedgwick County, Colorado to Reuben and Harriet (Laughrey) Blake. He graduated from Red Lion School. On June 14, 1951 Amzie married Wilma H. Brockmoller at the Christian Church Parsonage in Julesburg, Colorado. The two were married for 62 years. Amzie worked as a farmer, was on the Sedgwick County road department for 11 years, the Deuel County road department for 14 years, and helped famers during harvest driving trucks. He was a member of IOOF Lodge Julesburg and the Chappell Lions Club. He enjoyed bowling and fishing, especially with best friend Tugo Yoshamoto.

He is survived by wife Wilma Blake of Julesburg, son Kevin Blake and wife Hildy of Julesburg, son Kent Blake of Oshkosh, NE, granddaughters Deanna Blake of Julesburg, Katie Rosas and husband Rick of Julesburg, Crystal Thelander and husband Beau of Oshkosh, NE, Shyanne Blake of Scottsbluff, NE, grandsons Alexander Mues of Sidney, MT, Thayne and Dakota Blake of Julesburg, great-grandson Justyce Rosas of Julesburg, great-granddaughters Harlie Rosas of Julesburg & Hailee Thelander of Oshkosh, NE, many nieces and nephews, and sister Jane Olson of Haxtun, CO.

Amzie was preceded in death by mother Harriet Blake, father Reuben Blake, brothers Roy, Jack, Walter, and Rodney Blake, sisters Harriet Norris, Hazel Alexander, and Louise Turvey.
