A son of James Francis "Frank" and Martha Jane (Stegall) Dougherty, he married Erma Rozetta Curry on June 28, 1927 in Wenona, Marshall Co, IL. Kenneth started to work for the railroad when he was 16 years old and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 48 years. He was the Lomax station agent for 28 years. He retired in 1972. He was preceded in death by a son, a sister, and one infant brother.
