Edgar Lee Bone Jr. A memorial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, for Edgar Lee Bone Jr. at his home in Alto, Texas.

Mr. Bone died April 7, 2004, in Rusk from complications from a motorcycle accident in Rusk in late February. He was born June 18, 1955, in El Paso, Texas. He attended high school at Robert E. Lee in Houston where he was a track star, played football and was voted most handsome. He attended Columbia College in Missouri on scholarship and later received his bachelor's degree in fine arts at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. Edgar worked as a law librarian for Akin & Gump. Since 1996 he was self-employed as a general contractor. Edgar was a member of the Rusk High School coaching staff in 1995 when they advanced to the semi-finals. He was often heard to remark, "I coached the laundry!" Mr. Bone was a basketball referee and a baseball umpire and a life-long fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He will be greatly missed and remembered for his love of art, family, animals, sports and gardening. He had excellent skills as an architect and was a wonderful dancer and a great kisser.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Bone of Alto, Texas; parents, Edgar and June Bone of Alto, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and John Hall of Magnolia, Texas; nieces, Erika Gowin and husband, Shawn, of Magnolia and April Hall of Magnolia; nephew, Nathan Hall of Magnolia; and great-nephews, Skylar and Zakary Gowin of Magnolia; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
