Robert D. Jackson, age 94, widower of Chrystial Schuler Jackson, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013, at Masonic Home of Shelbyville, Kentucky.
Services for Mr. Jackson were 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013, at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Baxter officiating. Burial with military honors followed in Frankfort Cemetery.
A native of Franklin County, he was born September 1, 1919, to the late Orby N. Jackson Sr. and Venice Perkins Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a World War II veteran of the United States Army. During his service time, he participated in four major campaigns and received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He retired from Sears after 30 years of service. Mr. Jackson was long time member and deacon of Crestwood Baptist Church.
He is survived by a nephew, Charles Jackson (Nell); niece, Ada Pauline Pulliam (Chester); and several great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Golden Semones; and two half-brothers, Orby N. Jackson, Jr. and William Jackson.
