Bertha SECREST is the daughter of Azariah and Louella Secrest.
She was born in Buffalo, Guernsey County, Ohio, around 1883 or 1884, probably the latter year.
She married Chester Albert CAMERON in Buffalo, Ohio, on April 15 1903.
She died from complications of childbirth with her first child, a son, on February 20 1905 in Cambridge, Ohio.
Her child, Boyd Secrest CAMERON died two weeks later on March 6 1905. They may share a common grave.
Her husband, Chester Albert CAMERON, is my paternal grandfather. He remained in Ohio until around 1910. The 1910 census lists him as widowed and living with his older brother Walter LeRoy Cameron in Salt Lick, Perry, Ohio.
Around 1910 he went west and settled in Portland, Oregon for a year or two.
Later he relocated to Gilliam County, Oregon, where he met my paternal grandmother, Eudora Mae KENASTON.
They got married April 29 1914 and had seven children. My father, Boyd Curtis CAMERON, was their first child.
