Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Hitchcock Celebrate Anniversary at Daughter's Home
Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Hitchcock, parents of Mrs. Edward F. Phelps, wife of the Rev. Mr. Phelps, pastor of the Free Methodist Church, celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary Sunday.
Daniel Preston Hitchcock was born July 11, 1843, in Gerry. Rosella Arvilla Hitchcock was born October 5, 1843 in Wheeler, Indiana.
They were united in marriage February 27, 1861 at Ellington. They were the parents of two children, the Rev. B. F. Hitchcock of Akron, Ohio, born at Gerry and Mrs. Bertha M. Phelps, of Corning, born at Spottsylvania, Va., where her parents resided for 12 years. Except for this 12 years, they lived on a farm near Gerry until 14 years ago.
For the past 14 years they have been residents of Corning, making their home with the Rev. and Mrs. E. F. Phelps. Mr. Hitchcock suffered a shock the 29th of May 1926 and since that time has been confined to his bed. Mrs. Hitchcock is enjoying unusually good health for one her age.
Because of Mr. Hitchcock's condition, the anniversary was celebrated in a very quiet fashion. During their years in Corning, Mr. and Mrs. Hitchcock have made many friends, whose love and respect they hold and who now extend to them best wishes on this occasion.
