Patricia Ann (Tippet) Gorman, of McCandless Township for 37 years, went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2007, in the Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford.

She was the beloved wife of Charles J. Gorman for 50 years; loving mother of Charles E. (Marci) and James D.; cherished grandmother of Molly and Sarah; daughter of the late Mary and Mike Tippet of McClellandtown; and dear sister of the late Marie Lucas and Mickey Tippet.

Pat was a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pittsburgh.

As an educator, she was an accomplished reading specialist who was once described by Dr. Harry Falk as the "finest reading teacher he ever observed".

She was employed by the Norwin, Penn-Trafford, Keystone Oaks, North Hills and East Allegheny Schools. She also served as a principal of both North Hills and East Allegheny. Her love of children and her determination to help them understand what they read prompted her before and after retirement to tutor students to improve their reading practices.

Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the H.P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1032 Perry Highway, Ross Township, 15237, (412-364-4444) where a celebration of Pat's life will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Chapel. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 146 Neely School Road, Wexford, Pa., 15090.
