Edith Evelyn Murray Grooms, 92, of 122 Grooms Road, went home to be with the her Lord, Saturday, March 3, 2005, at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals.
She was a native of Del Rio, Tennessee. She was a former employee of Hammarland Manufacturing Co. and was a member of the Church of God where she was a former Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Grooms was a daughter of the late Farris and Elizabeth Ramsey Murray. She was the wife of the late Rass Grooms and also preceded in death by a daughter Doris Grooms.
Surviving are a daughter, Jeanette A. Wilde and husband, William; a son, Rocky Grooms and wife, Vanessa, all of Mars Hill; a sister, Bertha Clark of Marshall; three grandchildren, Tim Wilde and wife, Jessica, Chris Wilde and wife, Shelley Steele, and Amanda Davis and husband,Anthony; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service, of Mars Hill. The Rev. George Norton and Winston Lloyd will officiate. Burial will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery.
