Christine O. Hughes, age 87, Somerset, Kentucky daughter of the late Charlie Ellis and Mildred (Sears) Coomer was born in Somerset, Kentucky on May 13, 1926 and departed this life on Sunday December 29, 2013.

Other than her parents, Christine was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Coomer, Clyde Coomer and Billie Ray Coomer. Two brothers in law, Jack Sheehan and Warren Million.

She is survived by five daughters, Judy (and Gene) Phillippi of Somerset, Mary (and Gary) Whitaker of Lexington, Kentucky, Lewanne (and Eugene) Harness of Mintonville, Kentucky, Becky (and Larry) Fisher of Dickson, Tennessee, Kathy (and Virgil) Dalton of South Amherst, Ohio. Two sisters Geraldine Sheehan of Somerset, Katherine Million of Danville, one brother Glenn (and Sondra) Coomer of Fairfield, Ohio. And one sister in law Mary Jewel Coomer of Somerset. Nine Grandchildren, Jeff (and Leisa) Phillippi, Kristi Hunley, Kerri (and Rick) Peterson, Jerri (and Brad) Begley, Larry (and Susan) Ratliff, Amy Fisher, Jack Fisher, Ryan Dalton, and Brandon Dalton. Ten great grandchildren, Allison Phillippi, Dylan Phillippi, Rachel Hunley, Alex Hunley, Sarah Stephens, Megan Peterson, Meredith Peterson, Adam Begley, Brooke Begley, and Tyler Fisher. And one great, great granddaughter Ashlynn Stephens.

Christine retired after 27 years from General Electric. She was a very devoted, loving mother, loved cooking and making people laugh. She always said her greatest accomplishment in life was her five girls. She was a member of the First Christian Church and long time member of the Adams Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 1, 2014 after 5pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday January 2, 2014 at 11am in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Aden and Dr. Mike Gatton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dutton Cemetery.
