Lester Eugene Ables
Lester Eugene "Gene" Ables, 70, of Freemansburg, passed away Friday, January 2, 2009, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston.
Gene was born June 22, 1938, in Gilmer County, a son of the late Carl D. Ables and Eldora Radcliff Ables.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen L. Ables, whom he married August 19, 1965; two daughters, Debbie Bean and husband Doug of Westfield, and Tammy Jones and husband Lendal "Rob" of Jane Lew; grandchildren, Stephanie Smith and husband Tyler of Jane Lew, Tiffany Bean and Wes Smith of Morgantown, Colton Jones and Morgan Jones of Jane Lew; seven brothers and sisters, Mary Callis and husband Jim, John Ables and wife Delphia, Naomi McHenry and husband Wayne, Harry Ables and wife Vivian, Roxena Adams, Lonnie Ables and wife Judy, Carl Ables and wife Cathy; and several nieces and nephews.
Gene was a retired Lewis County School Bus driver and a member of the Freemans Creek Baptist Church.
He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
Friends were received Monday, January 5, at Floyd Funeral Home, Weston. Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, at the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Brad Tenney officiating. Interment followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Weston.
