Elsie E. Myers, 84, of McLeansboro, died at 10:25 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 1998, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was a houewife.

She was born on January 3, 1914, a daughter of Thomas Arch and Emma Mary (Braden) Warren. On December 24, 1934, she married Cecil "Pete" Myers, who preceded her in death in 1971. She was a member of Blooming Grove Baptist Church, a member of Hamilton County Home Extension, Hamilton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the VFW Ladies Auxilary #1671 in McLeansboro.

The funeral was at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 1998, at Blooming Grove Baptist Church near McLeansboro. The Rev. John Lee Jr. and Rev. Gary Davenport officiated. Burial was in Blooming Grove Cemetery near McLeansboro. Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Myers is survived by two sons, Wendell Myers and wife Judith of McLeansboro and Dennis Myers and wife Betty of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Dr. Teresa Myers and Murphysboro, Richard and Michael Myers, both of Harrisburg, Brenda Endicott of McLeansboro; two brothers, Don Warren of Mena, Arkansas, Max Warren of McLeansboro; two sisters, Edith Meagher of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Helen Ruth Johnson of McLeansboro; two great-grandchildren, Maci and Derek Endicott; one step-grandchild, Jayne Ballantyne.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; James, Charlie, & Paul, and one infant sister, Carolyn.
