John Fahey married Margaret Silvey Fahey when she was 27 and he was 33. They had at least 6 children.
Hilda Marie Fahey Charles 1893-1932 who died of TB
Margaret Fahey 1896 - 1937. MArgaret died at Polk Hospital for the Mentally Retarded.
Gertrude Anina (Clarence Gens) 1897 - 1978
John Silvey Fahey 1899 - 1933 who was a dentist and died at age 33
Regina Fahey (John O'Donnell) 1901 - 1967
Edward Vincent Fahey 1903 - 1951 who was a;sp a dentist and died when only 48 .
It's hard to find out information, but in the 1910 census Margaret is 65, John is 70, and youngest child Edward is 26. Edward didn't have a job (He was a dentist, don't know if the census is right) and wasn't in school. Their house is worth $10,000 which sounds like a lot back then. They lived in Homewood, which was an elegant place then but now is an ugly slum. They didn't have a radio set, which is a question the 1910 census asked.
Great-grandfather John died at age 87 when the car he was driving was hit by a streetcar . He died of shock and a fractured skull. ( I have to admire you, John, for still driving at 87)
John died in 1945. He had seen his daughters Margaret and Hilda, and his oldest son John, die years before him. This must have been tremendously hard to bear.
