Fount. Beattie Enlisted on May 14th 1861 with Co. E 1st Virginia Cavalry in Abington, Virginia where he meet and became very good friends with a John Singlton Mosby. Fountain became one of the original 15 of Mosby's rangers. Fountain would end up being promoted to Lieu. Of Co. E 43rd Bn Virginia Cavalry Partisan Rangers. Wounded at the skirmish in Loudoun Heights near Harpers Ferry, WV. To enlarge photo's click onto them.
