Founder of St. Paul's Hospital. Located at 8th & South J streets in Livermore, it opened in 1927. With about 24 beds, the hospital was small, but was the only major facility available between Oakland and Stockton for accidents and emergencies. The hospital closed in 1965. The facility was purchased by Valley Memorial Hospital which had opened in 1962 (and is now a part of Stanford Healthcare). The building still exists as the Quail Garden assisted living facility.
