"Schofield - In Reno, February 21, 1940, Ernest Peter Schofield, husband of Mrs. Clearo Schofield and father of Judith and Ann Schofield; son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schofield; brother of Sterling, Edward, Emmett, Herbert, Evelyn and Lester Schofield of Reno. A native of Vallejo, California, aged twenty-one years, one month, twenty days."

Residence at the time of his death was 501 Elko Avenue, Reno; he died at the Pioneer Hotel, 136 E Commerce Rd, Reno, from asphyxiation due to burning of bed clothes and 3rd degree burns on his legs, it was found to be an accidental death.
