Fred R. Kohr, Sr., 70, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, November 3, 2005 from the Polyclinic Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was retired as an equipment specialist for the Naval Ships Parts Control Center of Mechanicsburg and a retired 20-year seaman from the U.S. Navy, where he served in the Korean Conflict. Fred attended the Twenty-Ninth Street United Methodist Church in Harrisburg, and was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, branch #106 of Harrisburg, where he served as past president. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, loved playing bingo and especially entertaining everyone he came in contact with. Fred bids farewell to his ever loving family beginning with his beloved daughter, Miss Tammy L. Kohr, with whom he resided; his loving son, Fred R. Kohr, Jr., and his wife, Laura of Martinsville, IN; one brother, Roy Kohr of Mechanicsburg; two sisters, Margaret Smith of Harrisburg, and Myrtle Morningwake of Grantville; four grandchildren, Justin Kohr, Brandon Kohr, Matthew Kohr, Rylee Kohr, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral commerating Fred's life Wednesday, November 9, at Jorich Funeral Home, Middletown, Reverend H. Raymond Brooks, Pastor of the Twenty-Ninth Street United Methodist Church officiating.
