John Christopher "Chris" Bell was born on February 23, 1949 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Cornelius Bell and Vernita Judie Bell. He passed from this life on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at his home in Pawnee, Oklahoma having reached the age of 64 years, 10 months, and 8 days. He spent his early childhood years in Pawnee and then moved to California. He joined the U. S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in March of 1972. Chris also worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone and retired from there after many years before moving back to Pawnee in 2000. He enjoyed being retired and hanging out at the Casino with his friends. Chris is survived by: Brothers & Sisters:

Plus numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents; two brothers, Willie Davis and Terry Johnson; three sisters, Dr. Quilla Dean Bell-Turner, Lurlene Seviano, and Ella Johnson; and two nephews, Gaylon Stewart and Dual Turner, Jr. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 2013 at Poteet Funeral Chapel, Pawnee, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma. (Poteet)
