The body of Barry Lee Knapp, 16, one of two youths whose pickup truck went into the Clearwater River last month, was found Thursday afternoon in the river west of Orofino.

He was a freshman at Orofino High School and had attended Orofino elementary schools except for a year and a half at Pierce.

He was born Sept. 19, 1962, the son of Melvin and Bobbie Knapp, at Orofino.

He was involved in many school activities, including art, wrestling, football and track. He enjoyed motorcycling, swimming, water and snow skiing.

He is survived by his parents at Orofino, three brothers, Jamie, Tory and Clay; mater- nal grandmother, Vera Mitchell of Endicott, Wash.; paternal grandfather Lloyd D. Knapp of Grand Coulee, Wash.; paternal grandmother Irene Peckham of Pateros, Wash.

Two funeral services will be held at Gilbert's Funeral Chapel. One is 7 p.m. Monday and the other at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. John Flowers of the Orofino Nazarene Church will officiate. Burial will be at Weseman Cemetery near Orofino. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Clearwater Search and Rescue unit.
