She was born to the late Henry and Georgia Hamilton Jones. Mrs. Harmon graduated from Sherrills Ford High School. She recieved a degree in Home Economics from UNC-Greensboro and complete gradute work at Appalachian State Teachers College. She later became the Home Demonstration agent in Watauga and Avery County. She Married Dr. Raymond Harris Harmon in 1937. Mrs. Harmon was very active in several community groups and helped beautify Watauga County.
