Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of the late Betty Martin Horne and the son of the late Olin C. Horne and Rachel Sentell Horne.
He was a United States Army Veteran, owner/operator of Horne Plumbing and a Volunteer Fireman for Macedonia Fire Department. He enjoyed farming and raising cows, hunting, flea markets and had a great love for his family and especially his grandchildren. Mr. Horne was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where he was a former Deacon.
Surviving is a son, Kelly D. Horne of Gaffney; two daughters, Karen H. Miller and husband, Greg and Kateena H. James and husband, Alan, all of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Kailtyn Miller, Jackson Miller, Kiersten James, Kendal James and Ayden James; two sisters, Jeanette Griffin of Fletcher, N.C. and Barbara Thrift and husband, Joe of Cowpens; and a brother, Pete Horne and wife, Sadie of Mayo.
Mr. Horne was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Klaree Grace James; five brothers, Junior Horne, Wilkes Horne, Keith Horne, Harold Horne and Ray Horne; and two sisters, Doris Berry and Irene Bailey.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2015 at Blakely Funeral Home. A graveside service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Dr. Terry Duvall officiating.
