Jerry Floyd Ellett Sr., 64, of Florence, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at ECM Hospital. He was a member of the Baptist church, IAM Local No. 1189 and a retired machinist for Wise Alloys. Jerry loved to restore old street rods and attend car shows.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2012, in Greenview Memorial Chapel, with Brother Matt Heupel officiating.
Mr. Ellett was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Willie Aycock Ellett; sister, Doris Jean Scott (J. W.); brother, Thomas Ellett; and brother-in-law, Buddy Kersey.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Underwood Ellett; son, Jay Ellett Jr.; daughter, Kimberly Ellett; brothers, John Ellett and wife, Brenda, Ed Ellett and wife, Jane; sister, Mildred Kersey; sister-in-law, Rebecca Ellett; many nieces, nephews; several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Honorary pallbearers will be his street rod buddies.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, Stony Point Cemetery Fund or a charity of your choice.
