Plattsburgh ? Jennie D. LaPorte, 84, formerly of Lozier Place, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at the Rome Memorial Hospital in Rome.

She was born in Morrisonville on Aug. 3, 1915, the daughter of Clayton and Isabelle Rock.

Jennie was a graduate of Morrisonville High School. She was a homemaker and devoted mother and wife. Jennie was a member of St. Peter?s Church in Plattsburgh until she moved to Lee Center.

Jennie is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Ronald and Eileen LaPorte of Romeo, Mich. and Andrew and Kristine LaPorte of Lee Center; a sister, Alice Favaro of Plattsburgh; a brother and sister-in-law, Clayton and Janice Rock Jr. of Southboro, Mass.; a brother-in-law, Walter Andrews of Morrisonville; five grandchildren, David LaPorte, Michael LaPorte, Thomas LaPorte, Karen LaPorte Bailer and Christopher LaPorte; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Jennie was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd V. LaPorte on Nov. 15, 1992; and her sister, Marie Andrews on May 17, 2000.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home chapel in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in St. Peter?s Cemetery in Plattsburgh. A vigil service will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home.
