MISS BERGIJOT ABRAHAMSON
Miss Bergijot Abrahamson, 71, of East Greenwich, died Friday, September 12, in Mary McClellan Hospital, Cambridge, after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted Monday at the McClellan Funeral home, Salem, by the Rev. Carol Loomer, pastor of the East Greenwich Presbyterian church. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery, Salem.
Born March 27, 1909 in Norway, she was the daughter of Hans and Louise Larsen Abrahamson. She was a graduate of Washington Academy in Salem and Oneonta Teachers college. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in area schools for many years.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Dorothea Thygesen of Cossayuna, Mrs. Osta Johnson of North Plainfield, N.J., and Mrs. Esther Bird of Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers, Leon Abrahamson of Cossayuna, Arnold Abrahamson of Argyle, Norman Abrahamson of Cambridge and the Rev. T. Howard Akland of Lehigh Acres, Pa.
The family has suggested that memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Salem Rescue squad.
