Barney Edwin Nation, 92, of Huntsville passed away Saturday. Born in Cedartown, GA, he was predeceased by his father, Barney Edwin Nation, and was reared by his mother, Nell Tyler Nation Greer and step-father, George Millard Greer, Sr. He began his career in the family auto parts business in Cedartown. He later worked as a sales representative for several different companies. Most of his career was spent with Standard Motor Products in sales and management in the Southeast. After his retirement he continued as a consultant.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Patricia Davis White Nation of Huntsville; step-children, James R. White of Huntsville; Diane White Hayes of Huntsville, and Charlotte White Sheehy and husband, Tim, of Germantown, TN; grandchildren, Amanda Parker and husband, Matthew, of Memphis, TN; Caitlyn Ingram and husband, Jeff, of Memphis, TN; and Rebecca Sheehy Kuenzinger and husband, Jay, of Germantown, TN; half-brother, George Millard Greer, Jr. of Cedartown, GA; half-sister, Sara Frances Greer Wilkes of Cedartown, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Monday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in Laughlin's Chapel with the Rev. Emerson Lyle officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
