Jonathon Abbot's (1740-1821) first wife was Mehitabel Abbot (1736-1777). They were married about 1762. Both of their last names were Abbot (they were probably cousins). Children by this marriage: Mehitable (Abbot) Russell, Sarah Abbot, Zerviah (Abbot) Ellingwood, Abigail (Abbott) Russell, Hannah (Abbot) Twitchell and Jonathan Abbot. Jonathan also has children by his second marriage to Dorcas Abbot (1758-1844). Those children include a Stephen Abbot (1779-1835). Jonathan's first wife Mehitable died 01 Jan. 1777 in Andover, Essex, Massachusetts, but I have not found a memorial or gravesite location for Mehitable.
