Mrs. Buttrey worked as a bookkeeper for the old Duthie See Co. at Lewiston for 11 years and then at Morrell's Construction Co. for 20 years. She retired from Morrell's in 1974.
Her husband, Elmer M. Buttrey, also was employed by Morrell's. He died in 1966.
Mrs. Buttrey was born in a sod house near the now-defunct community of Carlock, S.D., on June 10, 1909. She moved to Troy, Idaho, at the age of 9 months with her parents, August and Betsey Hedeen.
Her family returned to South Dakota to homestead in 1919 and then moved to Lewiston in 1925. Mrs. Buttrey graduated from Lewiston High School in 1930. She married her husband on Sept. 22, 1946.
She was a member of the Orchards Community Church. She resided at 618 Bryden Ave.
Survivors include a son, Paul E. Buttrey of San Pedro, Calif., and a sister, Lucille Clausen of Lewiston.
