Mrs. Annie L. Walthall, 78, died Friday, November 10, 2000, at her residence in Fountain Hill. A native of Brandon, MS, and a resident of Fountain Hill for over 40 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Franklin Walthall, in 1983; a son, James Lee Walthall, in 1960; her parents, Wesley & Mattie Sue Kersh Smith, and three brothers.

She is survived by two sons, Johnny Walthall of Fountain Hill and Eugene Walthall of El Dorado; seven daughters, Gracie Spivey of Dumas, Betty Chance of Lake Village, Mary Davis of Fountain Hill, Juanita Knight of Hamburg, Susan Gifford of Fountain Hill, Nancy Coulter of Hamburg and Cindy Harris of Fountain Hill; a brother, Lester Smith of Fresno, CA; three sisters, Louise Walthall of Bastrop, LA, and Willie Jones and Wilma Barrett of Fountain Hill; 22 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Sunday, November 12, in the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church with Revs. Bill Elton and Edward Gulledge officiating. Pallbearers were Chris, Jonathan and Paul Walthall, Chris and Dewayne Bussell, Will Coulter, Eric Roberts, and Dion Darbonne. Interment followed services at the Flat Creek Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church, c/o Mr. Velton Cason, 213 Ashley Road 482, Fountain Hill, AR 71642
