Betty Lee Smart, 89, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Betty was born in Quail. She retired after 36 years at General Dynamics. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Betty was an avid reader, sports fan, and loved to travel. She had many, many dear friends and valued their friendship throughout. Betty was preceded in death by parents; brother, A.J. Beck; one son, Michael McCrone; and husband, Harold Smart. Survivors: Daughter, Patricia Lenz and husband, Bill; nephew, Larry Beck and wife, Judy; great-nieces, Alyssa and Cassie; faithful companion, Sonic; and numerous cousins in Tennessee, Texas and Florida.
