Doris A. Secrest, 86 of Marion, Indiana died on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 3:30 am in her residence. She was born in Jefferson Township, Indiana to Everett and Lillian (Duling) Simons and they preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Jefferson Township High School, Upland and a member of the First Church of God, Marion. She had been very active in various ministries in the church throughout the years.
Survivors include two sons; John (Cathie) Secrest, Marietta, GA and David Secrest, Marion. Daughters, Maria (John) Porterfield, Marion and April (Monte) Matthews, Clinton, Ill. Son in law, Barry (Deborah) Herring, Brown Co, IN
Grandchildren: Jennifer (Michael) Gilbert, Sara Secrest, Emily (Lee) Bazmore, Deborah (Dan) Munoz, Andrew (Heidi) Porterfield, Tyler (Marissa) Herring, Anne St. Henry, Courtney Herring, Bethany Herring, Maggie Herring, Gram (Cristina) Gould, Melinda Mathews, Denise Mathews.
Grandchildren: 9
Preceded in death by; parents, husband, Ralph, daughter, Paula Herring, three brothers and two sisters.
Viewing will be on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 East Main St. Gas City.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 East Main St. Gas City with the Rev. Bill Fulda officiating. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery, Matthews, IN
