Born in Pendleton, SC, on June 24, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Joe Gilreath and the late Leca Telford Gilreath. Mrs. Acker was retired from Abney Mills and was a founding member of Forest Hill Baptist Church. Her favorite activities were cooking and spending time with family and friends. She resided the last six years at Summit Place of Anderson, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
She is survived by her son, William Jerry Acker (Jane) of Charleston, SC.; daughters, Peggy Acker Broome (Henry) of Anderson, SC., and Linda Acker Ellis of Williamston, SC.; sister, Mildred Gilreath Evans of Anderson, SC., and half sister, Loretta Cole of Anderson, SC.; one grandson, Timothy Craig Ellis of Greenville, SC, and a step-grandson, Billy Joe Broome of Selmer TN, and a special friend, Shirley Conley of Anderson, SC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ralph Acker
