"Mary E. Tyrrel was born in Monroe Co., Iowa, Feb. 20, 1844, and died January 2, 1916. She married Harrison Gibson April 5, 1860, and they had five sons, John S., Jess N., Edward F., William H. and E. Milton, and Edward F., who died Aug. 1879. She married second, Benjamin Chedister, and they had three children, James L., Kester L. and Thurman William Chedister of Grinnell. She had eleven brothers and sisters, five still living: John S. Tyrrel, Wilbaux, Montana; Dorliska E. Miller, Eugene, Ore.; Lorenzo P. Tyrrel, McRae, Ark; Osman and James H., Albia. (IA). She died aged 71 years, 10 months and 12 days."

"TWIN SISTER OF CHARLES P. TYRREL --- Mary E. Tyrrel was born in Monroe County, Iowa, February 20, 1844, and died January 2, 1916. She was married to Harrison Gibson, April 5, 1860, to which union were born five sons: John S., Jess N., Edward R., William H. and E. Milton. Edward F. preceded her in death. In August 1879, she was married to Benjamin Chidester, to which union were born three children: James L., Kester L., and Thurman. A stepson, William Chidester, of Grinell, was present. She was of a large family, having eleven brothers and sisiters, five of whom are living: John S. Tyrrel of Wibaux, Mont., Dorliska E. Miller of Eugene, Oregon, Lorenzo P. Tyrrel of McRae, Ark., Osman M. and James Tyrell of Albia, Iowa. She became a member of the church in 1860. She was 71 years, 10 months and twelve days of age. Funeral service was held by Rev. C. V. Pearce of Albia."
