Funeral Rites for Mrs.
M. D. Empson Held Friday
The funeral of Mrs. M. D. Empson of Harco, wife of Dr. M. D. Empson were held Friday at Old Brushy church in Saline County and were conducted by Dr. I. E. lee, pastor of the first Baptist church of Harrisburg, assisted by Rev. E. C. Miller of Harco, The Moore Quarter of Harrisburg furnished appropriate music. Among those from Marion present at the funeral which was one of the largest held in the community, were Mrs. Parodina Duty, Attorney and Mrs. Delos L. Duty, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Winters, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fuller, Mrs. Lula Hastings, Mrs. William Cheamness and John Paul Felts.
Mrs. Empson had been ill for the past five weeks had suffered a stroke of paralysis on Friday March 17 and died Wednesday, March 22, aged 72 years. She leaves her husband, who has been an invalid with paralysis for six years, a son, Harold Empson of Harrisburg, two daughters, Mrs. Fred Malone and Mrs. Blaine Duty of Harrisburg.
Burial was in Old Brushy Cemetery.
