Age 75, a daughter of the late Joseph and Edna Hargenrater Bayhurst.
She was raised and educated in Oil City, Pa. where she graduated from St. Joe's High School in 1952. After High School, she moved to Erie and attended Villa Maria College, graduating in 1956. She taught in the Erie School District until retiring in 1996. She was a member of St. George Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Bayhurst; and two sisters, Marjorie and Constance Bayhurst.
She is survived by her husband, David G. Gillespie, Sr., whom she married on June 25, 1960; two daughters, Nancy Pyle of Erie and Gretchen Brown, and her husband, Jack, of South Park, Pa.; three sons, David Gillespie, Jr., and his girlfriend, Michele, and her daughter, Kaia, of McKean, Fred Gillespie and his wife, Lisa, of Erie, and Timothy Gillespie and his wife, Amy, of Schwenksville, Pa.; five grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Bayhurst, and his wife, Grace, of San Jose, Calif. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Burial will be in Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.
