He was born Jan. 25, 1897 in Hawley, Pa., to Matthew and Eugenia Hazen Acton. He married the former Ida Smith, and was a retired interior decorator.
He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of New Haven, Conn.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Robert and Maurice, both of Mountaindale; Joseph of Glen Wild, and Arnold of Virginia; three daughters, Mrs. Claire King of Port Jervis, Mrs. Norma Schaefer and Mrs. Dorothy Tibbets, both of Connecticut; a sister, Mrs. Alice Courright of the State of Florida; 23 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Austin Butler will officiate at services at the Knight Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis.
